Our Services
TAC provides Airborne Remote Sensing collection and processing services to a wide variety of clients. Some of those clients include: USGS, UDSDA, USFS, DOI, USACE, FEMA, DOT, State, County & City Governments, Railroad, Private Engineering Firms, Utility Providers, Solar Providers, Wind Energy Providers, Mining and many other industries and agencies.
Here are some examples of the services we provide…
LiDAR Classification
TAC provides full point cloud classification using cutting edge software and workstations specifically built for handling extremely large LiDAR datasets. During the classification process each LiDAR point is assigned a classification that defines the type of object that has reflected the laser pulse. LiDAR points can be classified into a number of categories including bare earth or ground, top of canopy, and water. The different classes are defined using numeric integer codes in the LAS files.
Digital Elevation Model
A DEM (Digital Elevation Model) represents the bare-Earth surface, removing all natural and built features.
Digital Terrain Model
A DTM (Digital Terrain Model) typically augments a DEM by including vector features of the natural terrain, such as rivers and ridges.
Digital Surface Model
A DSM (Digital Surface Model) captures both the natural and man-made features of the environment.
Data - Product Types
Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Digital Surface Model (DSM) and Digital Terrain Model (DTM) are three commonly implemented geospatial features generated with airborne mapping systems. Each data type provides different elevation values as each model uses different processing methodologies. Elevation values from a LiDAR point cloud come from features including bare-ground, power lines, tree canopies or buildings. Choosing the right model for your project is critical. We can assist you in choosing and generating the right model for your project.
LiDAR Extraction
TAC offers advanced LiDAR data extraction services. High-fidelity object extractions from LiDAR point clouds assist in the the generation of digital twins, which are critical in urban planning, design, transportation, and more.
Contours & Break-lines
TAC LiDAR and imagery data provides some of the most reliable datasets available. TAC provides both LiDAR derived contours and photogrammetric contours. In many cases clients prefer photogrammetric contours because of the smooth appearance. Contours generated from LiDAR do not look appealing but are more accurate in representing the terrain. When required, break-lines are extracted from LiDAR point clouds, LiDAR intensity and/or existing imagery.
TAC provides advanced change detection services using LiDAR and high-resolution imagery. LiDAR and imagery change detection is one of the most capable techniques for mapping changing environment through time. Comparing multiple LiDAR and imagery datasets with overlapping coverage from different points in time, is extremely valuable for geohazards such as landslides, flooding, bank erosion, debris slides, vegetation encroachment, subsidence and rockfalls/avalanches, as well as assets such as embankments, highway pavement, bridges, open pits, dams and much more.
Change Detection
After collecting high density LiDAR, high resolution imagery and climatology data, TAC Provides PLS-CADD modeling of utility corridors. This is a powerful service providing utility providers with advanced inspection and modeling or design capability for their utility infrastructure. From aerial acquisition to PLS-CADD modeling, we have you covered.
PLS-CADD
TAC provides volumetric analysis using LiDAR & Imagery. TAC performs highly accurate calculations regarding the volume of objects or terrain in the model. It can also be used in conjunction with other models to calculate the difference in volume between the same areas of two different models (i.e., volume change analysis).

Agriculture & Forestry Support
TAC generates a variety of products from LiDAR and 4 band Imagery supporting forestry and agriculture. From measuring biomass in large forested areas to detecting crop stress over large tracts of farm ground, we have the solution.
TAC provides a variety of GIS cartographic products in both paper and digital formats.
